Many projects completed do not make it to the gallery. I could
not help but add a couple photos of this one. This totem was most likely carved by a tribe of native
Americans in the pacific northwest. The customer's father had brought this back from an expedition
in Alaska during the 1950's. At some point, the wings had been lost. I carved a new set of wings from a
pine board that came from a remodeling project. The paint scheme was inpired by the rest of the totem and
photos of other totems. A local artist completed the painting and the totem was returned to the owner. In
the future, the totem will be displayed at the
Crazy Horse Museum in South Dakota.
